Church + Align

Just an idea I wanted to float.
In the interest of equal opportunity praying. I think some affirmative action in church membership is in line.
At the moment evil chars absolutely no way can join a good church and vice versa.. My suggestion is a quota system.
At cult level (first upgrade)- 1 member can be of opposite align.
At order level(second upgrade)- 2 opposite aligned members allowed.
At Church level( final upgrade)- 3 opposite aligned members.
Now, mebbe these members get a reduced or no bonus of xp for killing the opposite(of churches) align mobs, since it would be their own align. Or mebbe, they could get a reduced bonus of xp for killing mobs opposite aligned from themselves. Or something.
Anyways just an idea. Fire away with your thoughts about it.

I actually think it's a great idea. I hate how character alignments are set in stone. I'm quite positive that won't change, so I'd be happy to allow an extra person of the opposite alignment in the church. I've always had a gripe with alignments, so this is a whiff of fresh air.

its not a bad idea, but i think you should only allow one person from an opposite alignment at a time….maybe a person is trying to reform, or wants to give up the goody 2-shoes life...but it would take a whole church to turn a person like that...
just a thought.

Nod Soth, was just up there as a rough idea. And thought mebbe more with a Full church as opposed to an order or something, but any form of this would be interesting I think

But I do believe that some races simply can't be another alignment. Like Elves, Drows, Vamipires and Slayers.

Wasn't Angel or whatever that dufuses name on Buffy a good vamp or something like that?
I think that all races should be allowed one alignment shift, some two. Like Vampires could shift to neutral, but not to good. Rather than seeing as everything as food, they take a more balanced and rational thought to their slaughter.

Nod, Ith you are right. Plus you have that cop from the show Forever Knight, who wasnt evil but was a vampire. There are definately some good examples of at least neutral vampires. Plus I dont see why Slayers counldnt be brought over somewhat or elves and drows vary slightly.

I dont think churches should allow people of other alignments to join, but an alignment shift i could agree with. If a slayer wants to become a slayer of good instead of evil, they could start killing good aligned monsters and shift their alignment that way, something to work towards in order to join a church to get the xp bonus. Sounds nifty to me.

But why in the hell would a Slayer, which I thought were bred to rid the world of evil, just say "fuck it" and get all buddy buddy with Vampires?
I still think that some races just can't go to the opposite side of the alignment chart.

No, but they could say fuck it and kill anyone that they think is making the world a difficult place, making them neutral. If they have to side with a vamp for a bit to do it, they could, then turn around and kill the vamp as well when the job is done.
