Xevira and I were talking between fights in Aeth and came up with the following: Perhaps add an extra argument to challenges, like 'challenge <target><town>' (of course, this would require arenas in several towns).

    For example:

'challenge xevira aeth' would display The Town Crier announces 'Lukus has challenged Xevira to a fight to the death in the Aethilforge Gladiator Pit!'

and if the challenge was accepted, both would be taken there, rather than the Selarian Arena.

Along with this, was also thinking of allowing for different types of battles. That would allow for things like battles where only magic could be used, or only physical attacks, or even a weaponless battle, only hand to hand and combat skills, various things like that. That would look something like this, to me:

    'chal xevira aeth'

The following stipulations are available for a challenge:

    nomagic, magic_only, noweapon, standard (etc)

In this case, you'd select which stipulations you would want, and then confirm the challenge. Everyone would see the "The Town Crier announces 'Lukus has challenged Xevira to a fight to the death in the Aethilforge Gladiator Pit!'" message, but the person being challenged would see the following (if physical battle only):

"The Town Crier announces 'Lukus has challenged Xevira to a fight to the death in the Aethilforge Gladiator Pit!'"

    Details: Magic Disabled

Do you accept the challenge? (Y/N)

Anyway, just a thought to add variety to arena battles.</town></target>

    The pig go.

I have always said making special arenas for different kind of fights would be great.

I'm not sure there needs to be code in place for those things. Can't you just agree to the terms and then do it?

Flagging a room is easy that is not a problem. What is people interupting the fight.

            Another part of that idea:

If multiple arenas are made, you and your prospective opponent have to be near the specified arena location. I guess the limit on that could be. can you be summoned there? If you can't, then you are too far away from the arena. I know that is a moot point with how leaving the arena now just takes you back to your previous location. ;) Just a thought though.

Also, perhaps prevent consecutive challenges to a particular individual… ie, if a player has a challenged issued to them or they have challenged someone, no other challenge to that player can be made until the challenge has been rejected or the arena battle has completed.

And, this has been put on the idea table before:

Arena betting! :D Have a timer set from the moment the challenge has been accepted to when fighting can commence. During that time period, people can place bets on the match. Perhaps give odds of winning based on various factors (like level ratio) such that the rewards to the winning bets can be measured somewhat. :)

Also, the stipulation type thing could be a way to DISQUALIFY combatants. You don't die if you don't follow the stipulations. You just lose the arena battle and are taken to the arena recall.
