Liches are completely defined by their supreme magical prowess.

    My ideas for wraiths:

-Able to reach out and scry very far places (at an energy cost):

can locate objects and characters to a much greater degree

I'd like to see liches lose immunity to lightning and change it to a resistance, to start.

Phylactery. The wraith is able to make an amulet which holds a portion of their energy. When they run out of life, they simple show up at the nearest recall spot. The amulets only hold so much energy and will shatter once the energy has run out. The wraith must be careful not to let this happen or will suffer a fate worse than death. Their form will decay and their essence spread throughout the world. It will take 15-20 minutes for the energies to come back together and a new form to be taken.

Very nice! Also… if maybe we get reduced to lightning resist... how about magic resist too? Since we're supposed to be such great magicians.

Idea… How about making it so that Wraiths don't have to eat or drink? at least eat. Perhaps Xev could explain this better, but I don't think the undead , aside from vampires, should have to eat or drink, unless you want to go with the lousy old zombie movies, and say brains. But Wraiths ESPECIALLY. Wraiths have nearly no physical form, why would they need food and water?

yeah, the immunes…. I have only seen one thing that casts kill ( i think it did anyway), so that doesnt appear to be a very important immune.... or charm, because, I mean.... really... who's actually been charmed? I certainly haven't heard anything about being charmed either. Cold and lightning are cool, but yet again, not too terribly commonly used (though they are nice to have).

Naturally, though, they have vulns to some of the most common forces around (fire and bash, i.e. pyros and punching or anything else for that matter). Sure, I can understand undead being vulnerable to fire, buuuuut of course pyroblades and fireball are some of the most common things out there. Who's seen an elf complain about someone using a vuln? Noone as far as I've seen because there are hardly enough "iron" weapons out there for them to even notice.

              If I'm unclear......ask

(and for some reason, I can't seem to log in properly soo)

The problem I have with some of the racial vulns is the inability to exploit them.

                Dracon: Vuln to cold.

Aside from Levanter and a couple of rarely used, uncommon spells, what hits this vuln?

                Elf: Vuln to Iron.

Please tell me.. what "Iron" is there? Even if a weapon's material is Iron, i doubt it even hits the vuln.

                Slayer: Vuln to Negative.

Soulcutter, Withering, there's a few weapons out there. Energy drain also. This one I feel is fine.

                Titan: Vuln to lightning.

Lightning bolt, Call lightning, Zeus' lightning bolt. Yeah, exploited.

Human: No vuln, all is well here.

                Lich: Vuln to fire.

Along with Vampire, Sith, and Minotaur. Fireball annihilates Fire vuln. Pyro blades, wyvern's firesword, mishkals (flaming attribute), Golden axe.. .need I go on?

                Dwarves: Vuln to drowning.

So they can't cross the ocean. Who does anyway?

Drow: Vuln to light and silver.

What actually hits this vuln in the game? Silver is like Iron, good luck exploiting it.

Mishkal, for one. Slender blade which is double vuln with being made from silver and light, and up to an additional 29 dr per blade, and easy to gain.

Note: Myth, wrong forum to discuss racial vulns btw.

Yeah, wraiths being spirits, practically non-corporeal though manifested as such, they shouldn't need sustenance.

Let's have some fun with Wraiths:

Their movement is a manifestation rating, the greater the value the longer they can remain in some corporeal form that can exist outside of the death plane (and any area associated with it). Manifesting is a skill that requires full mana and at least 75% movement. When a wraith manifests, their mana does not regen, in fact can degenerate over time if their movement drops below 25%. Losing all movement will cause the wraith to return to the death plane, as they don't have the strength to maintain their corporeal form.

When a wraith dies, outside of newbville, they leave no corpse behind. Instead, they return to the death plane. The death timer would act as a way to prevent them from immediately manifesting themselves. If the room is CPK, they drop all of their stuff that would normally go into a corpse.

A wraith can return freely to the Netherworld if they wish, but they must remain there for 1.5x the normal death timer. If a wraith dies while in death areas, they suffer greater death timers, even if their timer had expired already.

well, I dunno about such….. I would suggest going with health than movement, because movement is the ability to move.... but health is closer to corporealness.

Also, though.... since lich should have very good magic skills, I say they could have their casting time reduced by half, of something along those lines.
