Constellations

Perhaps this could draw from the Timeline and whatnot, but what kind of constellations should we have? I'm trying to come up with shapes and whatnot to use as constellations in ASCII art descriptions in Plith's Aetheneum "Star" room. Raevila pointed out that they should all have some meaning, as our own constellations do (or did at some point). Oh, I could think of shapes for things easily, but it would have more substance if they had an RP story behind them. Such as "the mighty dragon Valus fighting against the shadow beasts of Mishkal" or some folklore like that.
Also, I'd like to see Constellations be SEEN by players as part of the night sky. It wouldn't be hard to pick constellations based upon time of year and time of night. Of course, that's another issue/idea.

If anyone managed to save that stuff from the old Enchanted Forest, I think that would definitely be a place to start. I >think< Emma may still have them saved somewhere. Then we can look and decide if any of them are still useful. I, myself, would like to see the rose constellation up there ;) I think Eithne may agree!
I know we have the Star constellation in game if you "look stars" in 452204. Needs to be modified as the constellation isn't in its original form. But again, no promises to the others.

Most of them should definitely have some meaning 8). The historical suggestion you gave was excellent, but we would have to wait for the story to be finished before we could work that one out.
What I think might work well, is if we have some constellations represent the in-game deities that I have been wanting to make for so long now. Perhaps in the long run, we could even have the constellations represent astral realms where said deities would be more powerful.
This kind of begs the question of the nature of our little sentience world. Is it a planet circling a star, a la our solar system? Or is it some sort of isolated realm? Being a scientist by trade I would have to argue for the former, as it gives infinite potential in creating new moons, stars, universes, etc, and we don't want to write ourselves into a corner. But the decision should be up to us all.
