    Heya all,

it has recently been brought (well, re-brought as I can remember people pointing this out before) that except for the Dragon race remort races don't really get their racial abilities extended. This wasn't meant to show off any favorotism to draconians/dragons, it was my full intention to boost the racial skills of all remort races, and this is what I plan to do right now!

What I would like you all to help me with is compiling a comprehensive list of CURRENT racial abilities for each of the 4..8..11 races. I will go ahead and start by giving more racial advantage to remorts when these skills, etc are used like the Dragon gets with the breaths. If there are some races which are underbalanced (human is an obvious one) I will gladly take this into account by giving them something else we can also think up here.

In addition to this, I hope in the future to implement many new things people can get from remorting than just a boost of their CURRENT abilities. The resurrect skill is an example of something like this, although it is generalized across ALL remorts which doesn't make it very interesting. However, before I do this, I need to adjust the current racial skills, so if someone can do some research and testing (on the testport, port 5900) and compile a list, we can all look over it as a group and make sure everything is there, and I will make the necesarry changes. Anyone feel free to hop in on some discussion in this area, any constructive opinion is welcome.

Addition: please note that as in most cases concerning testing, implementation, painstaking stuff like that I am more than glad to reward people who work with me on such matters. I would be glad to give a little bit of reward here and there to anyone who assists me in this particular issue as well, especially since it involves a little bit of research (Looking in past helpfiles and maybe making a few new chars.)

Some of that info is already charted at The Shield Wall and here in the info section under races. I will see if I can plug some of the holes in the charts for you.

Pretty much all the orignal remort races: Angel, Mystic and Demon have is Res: Magic and flat 3500 max with 25 stat max. That's it for them.

I posted the following in another thread but I thought you might like to check out these suggestions for the older remorts. I know they are very few but it's a neat little club.

      –----------------------------

Ok just to get in something for the only two Mystics in the game since they have transended the human state why not give them the ablity to be come "mist" a form of evasion and forming into another "state of matter" a very limited form of shape changing (give like 5 different forms they can change into temporarly).

For the Angel (who is on now and then) "holy aura" that can blind evil beings and "flight".

For the Demon (who is never on) The ablity to lower another's ac by causing dispair with their "evil laught" and "flight".

Besides their resist to "magic" (not that I have seen it work all that well anyway).

      The last Mystic -

All things are possible - until you open the box. - Ref. to Schrödinger´s Cat

The main reason that Dragons have gotten what attention they have is because I talked to Syn about it personally, not because of any favoritism or any crap like that of his.

And I can give the stats on Draconian/Dragon:

            Resist: charm blunt fire

Vulnerable: cold .. (we need more cold stuff!)

            Class Affects: detect hidden

            Racial Affects: infrared flying

            Special Abilities: breaths

Remort Additions: ability to wear two-handed weapon in primary hand, and once it's implemented, higher breath damage.

Elves have the second highest stat total. Lich has the highest. Also, Elves gain a 5% accuracy bonus when shooting. Haste is a blessed-curse. While gaining the extra hit, they do not gain the dexterity bonus.

I noticed that, too, Ith. But with that dexterity bonus I would have no higher dex than I already do. I can max dex out fairly quick, being an elf and all. So.. to me it doesn't matter that much. Dex eq is easy to get.

Well, so are haste items. At level one, everyone can have haste, if they are nice enough to auction candy necklaces.
