Highwayman Question

Does highwayman get steal? If not, they should. According to shield wall at least, highwayman largely revolves around robbery. Yet there is no indication that they get the skill steal. Rogue, the only mort class that gets steal, cannot go highwayman.

no one is a highwayman!!! I wanted to be one, but at the last minute they changed it so that I couldn't get it because I went rogue.

Ninja would have been the smarter choice, but yeah I went highwayman. I was actually considering posting about the same thing, highwayman does not get steal. Seems like a no brainer, especially when you take into account how little highwayman actually does get. Holdup, wtf :wink:

Their swiftness is unparalleled as is their knowledge of magical and mundane traps; a highwayman can put his blade to a victim's throat in the blink of an eye and incapacitate him through fear.
SPECIAL SKILLS: Holdup (help holdup), 100% success with picklock, can BAR doors (help bar)*, can steal gold and silver from anyone anywhere,
can steal items worn by mobs (and PCs in CPK), improved backstab and blackjack*
Note the "can steal gold and silver from anyone where, can steal items worn by mobs (and PCs in CPK)" part

When I multied to highwayman I got the pick lock skill, but the game doesnt seem to recognize that fact and doesn't allow me to practice it. 100% success, certainly not.

Remember that is from the game's help files. There are some ablities that Syn might of changed or not put in.

Pick lock shows up in my skill list, but I can't practice it, that's what I'm saying.

well, i believe steal is a general thief skill (duh, they're thievs), so theres no reason to add it to highwaymans skill list especially. However i do believe there is a booster on highwayman stealing, although i'll have to check… if someone emails me i would be glad to check and add it if necesarry
and yeah, we need a highwayman! :> someone has to use my nifty ambush feature. its just the best.

Well, I'm pretty sure only Rogue gets steal.
And Syn, if I ever manage to get on again, I'm considering going Highwayman when I remort. It looks pretty badass.

There is a good reason it's not with a HM for one they hold people up. That is robbery and there is no stealth involved. It's all "Give me your money or your life!" Thing.
