That would've been my son. He's 5 now, and my daughter is 3. We're considering adding a couple more if we can get a bigger house. Adopting, since I can't have any more biological kids. There are a lot of kids out there without families and I always imagined mine to be larger. They're a lot of work but they're a riot.
We have extremely exciting Christmas plans for going to church and then loafing around at my in-laws' place. At least the kids make it fun. I'm excited to see if they like what Santa has hidden away for them. Christmas is magic again when you get to experience the gift tornado through the kids.
My big guy has off school until after New Years, so I get to spend the next 2 weeks with him under foot. I'm essentially self employed so no holiday time off for me. I'm so glad preschool is open most of that time so I only have one psychotic monkey child bouncing around the house when I'm trying to work instead of two! One minion can be briefly distracted and given tasks to do, but both together carve a path of destruction. Like having Taz in the house, times two. If we do acquire more we may need to just declare the house a disaster area. At the very least make sure the next house has a yard so we can boot them outside to burn off steam out of range of breakables.
How about you, any interesting Christmas plans? Do you still keep in touch with anyone else from the game? I'm curious what became of a few old friends.
Yay, there is life here!
Mine is crazier than it used to be. Two kids now, working and I periodically do school. I live on facebook and won't game at all anymore though I still miss it. Is the game even still up? Last time I looked was years ago and it was gone. I was surprised to find the message board still going.
How've you been Riane? I do remember you.
I'm still alive out here :) Haven't gamed in years - haven't had time to let myself live in both worlds - and was curious wondering what happened to everyone. Anyone else still around, or even remember me?
Hey guys,
Just a heads up I'll probably be gone a while. Broke a finger so I'm typing 1 handed and not very well. Doc says it should quit hurting so much in about 3 weeks, heal fully in 6, but I'll probably be around a bit before then.
Also getting into planting season, and we have a house full with 16 chicks and 3 bottle fed baby goats taking up all my time, but I should have some time again after the weather warms up so I can toss them all outside and they don't need to be watched 24/7. Almost done with construction too, all that's left is the chicken house and clearing out/preparing the land for the garden, which shouldn't be too bad once it stops raining. Going to hire someone with a tractor, no way am I doing that much land with hand tools.
Anyone that needs to get ahold of me in the mean time, still checking my e-mail every day - should be a link to it on here.
'k I'm out, later all

Got another idea..
A flare, or a box of flares. Using throw skill, can throw flare in direction of choice or drop in same room. Level/skill level determines how far you can throw one, or possibly be able to throw only into next room but be able to use bow or crossbow skill to fire further. Flare would reveal hidden, feigning or shifted players - maybe only reveal shifted players as whatever they're shifted as instead of player name. Good for one use each only. Could also be used to reveal hidden items, exits etc. Maybe be able to light a flare and carry it around revealing as you go for a short time, with damage cost every room to account for sparks burning you and revealing yourself in the process (removes your invis, cloak, shift etc). Priced similar to a moonstone.
What do you guys think?
How about this for a simple solution…
Challenge would transport to a side of the arena where max occupancy of room is 2, with direct access to the safe room or make winner instantly transported to safe room as well as loser. Other players wishing to watch can do so from the lounge area of arena, by adding a feature which would work similar to third eye, like a TV.. perhaps a reflective pool..?
Without challenge, 2 player max room would be closed. Only entrance is through challenge.
For making it not just a vuln against vamps, what about my idea above about being able to use it in combat, against anyone, as stabbing them with a stake with very small percentage chance of death, much higher chance of just jabbing them?
I also like the idea of it being used against lesser vampires - old blood being so much more powerful, and old vampires having experience and strength from so many years, young vampires it makes sense to be vulnerable, even with trained up stats.
Would be a very cool skill to have if an area was created as a vampire area.. a crypt or something, not just the one little place under Reza, but a town or at least a large area. For RP value that'd be nice, since right now vampires (not counting players!) are sort of an afterthought in the game's set up - their areas, RP equipment and mobs play a very minor role. Rat mobs play a larger RP value than the total of vampire stuff. Just a thought :) Heh, forgive me if it's not totally coherent, I'm sick again and on lots of cold medicine…. and back to bed with me.
aaah… didn't know that :) Maybe it should be spread around a bit or pumped up to give it some publicity :)
Had an idea for a new skill and item type. Perhaps for good aligned or neutral, or for whoever I dunno.
A stake skill and item. Could be used against sleeping vampires with same effect as slit throat, or could be used in battle as jabbing at opponent with a wooden stake causing extra battle damage like kick, bash etc but maybe not as wimpy as them since stabbing someone with a pointy stick is going to do more damage than kicking them, and maybe have a very small percentage chance for instant death to account for a lucky heart hit. Stakes could be losable like arrows or bolts, or could need to be wielded like dagger. Also might be cool to have a skill to make stakes, arrows, bolts etc. Make sticks or other materials show up in areas it makes sense, like forest areas or have a mob on road near forest areas hauling back wood to town that you can kill.
What do you all think?
I'd think making them expensive and difficult to get would be adequate. Make higher level spells require more ink, maybe a mini-quest or a fee too, to get the tattoo done. Maybe do something like one vial costs as much as a chart, and will do 2 low-level tattoos, 1 average tattoo or require more than one vial to get a powerful tattoo. Also ban the most powerful spells from being tattooed. I doubt seriously that very many players will have the tenacity to keep on questing to get the quest items most people want as a basic set (ie chart, silky, keyring, whatever else you guys think is a must have) and then continue on to get a full set of tattoos. Most people that get them I'm guessing will get 1 or 2 that aren't on very many convenient pieces of equipment or that they just think are really cool, and leave it at that.
And if they did get all kinds of tattoos and decide to ditch the armor, whats wrong with that? I think it'd be pretty cool to be covered in tattoos and go around showing 'em off! Not to mention, in a way they would be armor - work for it, buy it and it makes you stronger.. could enhance our options. How many times have you turned down a good piece of eq in favor of one that had a particular spell you just had to have? I know a couple pieces of mine pretty much suck, except that I need the improved invis, detect invis etc on them - if I had these somewhere else other than having to cast constantly, I'd have a lot more viable choices for what to wear in those slots. Could help eliminate how many people wear the same eq at the same levels like a uniform because everybody agrees that's the best stuff for that level.
k that's enough of a rant for now 8)
I like the half level q item idea Ashie - maybe a pear :)
I posted this under the warpaint thread too, reposting because some of the info belongs here:
Q item idea - vial of tattoo ink, which can be taken to specific locations and mobs to get a permenent tattoo with spell effect based on Syn's idea. For example, go to Kalandor to a new mob/shop to get a dragon tattoo based on the town's famous dragon, with fly spell on it.
Awesome Syn - I want a tattoo too  I mean think about it.. you think Warlord, doesn't that image come with some sort of badass accessories - tattoos, scary hair, intimidation tactics.. a big part of war is looking fierce - and a terrified enemy won't be as effective in combat.
To be fair though, so far the conversation has really been trying to shift to remort only. I was thinking more of new things that could go for mort or remort classes. A warpaint or tattoo skill would fit really well in a couple of the mort classes too, but maybe then not be very effective against remorts for balance.
Maybe you could make tattoos from quest items. Like quest for a vial of tattoo ink, then travel to a specific location for the type of tattoo you want.. like if you want a dragon tattoo with fly spell, travel to Kalandor where a new mob will give you a tattoo based on the town's famous dragon.
I like that idea - a set of lockpicks. Especially if it can be added to keyring to keep track of where you put them easier. As is, I don't think I've used pick since I got bash.. not a hard choice, entering pick lock over and over and over again with no idea if it's going to work, or one bash will tell you if it's bash-proof and almost all non bash proof doors break by the 3rd try at most. Quick n easy.
It wouldn't make all the other removes worthless - lots of players do not have cancellation - including me now, since mine was removed with the update
Also it seems to be a higher level spell - just like people still use cure light etc because you work with what you have. Even for those players who have cancel and the other removes - if for example you're trying to remove poison, would you cast cancel with a chance of removing your beneficial spells and probably higher mana cost, or just cut to the chase and cast remove poison?
ugh, Warlady. That term need to be banished. It's a blemish.
Warpaint doesn't have to step on anyone's toes - I'm not asking for it to be an equivalent of war cry. it can do almost anything to promote aggression / courage, I'm just keen on the idea of war paint  So, who can come up with something for it to do that isn't just another word for war cry?
It could also be a mort skill, something to bring up whatever warrior class needs a boost - not certain at the moment.
Hehehe..
I want a skill called Warpaint, for warrior classes (duh) which causes you to put on warpaint and raises things related to aggression/confidence with a chance to terrify your opponent to reduce the same stats for them… for example, an increase in hitroll, possibly haste.. not sure what other stats, someone else chip in here
Ugh, no gender divided races, no gender divided classes.. I only barely put up with gender divided church ranks, and that's because my rank is not divided :p

Testing… if it works, what do you all think of the avatar?
