Hey guys, After some consideration ive decided to close this topic for now since it really doesn't work as a one vote thing. I think when/if we get multiple-vote polls in here I'll reopen it or perhaps make a new one. All is not in vain however because I did get quite a bit of perspective from those of you who offered replies. Thanks as always 8)

I like the idea of more mini quests to create potions, wands, staves, scrolls, etc. And even a few ultra power spells that require a few items, but I do not think any of these spells should be pk spells. Maybe spells that do something cool for groups and such, defeating mobs, teleporting to an area, group resurrect, summoning a demon or other mob, etc etc… I definately dont want to be required to tug regaents around though, I have to track enough inventory at work, I really dont see the need to do it on a mud too. On a sidenote, I'd much rather see the game become more balanced, more items, and expanded in areas and quests rather than implement a whole new spell system.

This topic is being locked as this will degenerate into useless bitching and bickering about something that is being taken care of. Any new topics that spring up that bitch about this will be locked. I suggest any opinions about them be kept silent until they are needed.

This reminds me of Prayers from Runescape. You had a set of prayer points, like mana, that could be used in maintaining a variety of prayers you choose to invoke.

I read through the focus brainstorming transcript, and really like the "spirit" of the idea. I personally think techniques/rituals using focus sound like a great addition to the game, and earning/learning these powerful weapons sounds like tremendous fun, not to mention the enjoyment of trying out a newly practiced technique or ritual on a foe. Leveled spells sound really cool… Hrm... It almost seems that the way the level of a spell could/would be set is by the ammount of focus dedicated to it. I think it would be interesting if mastered spells/skills, with enough focus/stats dedicated to them, would have added or improved effects such as improved damage, more impressive echos of the spell effect, and/or a subaffect for a spell, such as a mastered energy drain with enough focus would drain more than hp/move from a target, possibly draining some hr/dr from the target temporarily, not to mention an echo along the lines of Pravus' dark energies surge out and lift Emperor Yurien into the air! Pulses flow through the dark energy from Emperor Yurien and empower Pravus! I think certain spells, like detect invisibility, should only be able to bypass a lower level of its counterpart, so a level 110 improved invisibility could only be pierced with a level 110 or greater detect spell. The idea of a natural flow of energy overlaying the world sounds fantastic. I have yet to read the mana sea transcript, but I think that a fun additive to having varying levels of power across the world would be places of lawlessness across the wilds, embodied as npk/cpk spots. That would require a bit more player cooperation if some horrible bandit lord points Mythology were to take up residence near a well traveled path and close to a point of power. I think ranged spells would be a great addition as well, especially if one could tap into a node or ley line to fuel them or empower them.

Give me blood! Id also like the wars to have maybe a random war timer similar to the reckonings in which players of the chosen class are transported to an arena and the winner gets a prize say some quest points or something.

I still want a more original name than the one already placed. I tend to view seraphs as humans with wings, not elves, so that really doesn't fit.

For making it not just a vuln against vamps, what about my idea above about being able to use it in combat, against anyone, as stabbing them with a stake with very small percentage chance of death, much higher chance of just jabbing them? I also like the idea of it being used against lesser vampires - old blood being so much more powerful, and old vampires having experience and strength from so many years, young vampires it makes sense to be vulnerable, even with trained up stats. Would be a very cool skill to have if an area was created as a vampire area.. a crypt or something, not just the one little place under Reza, but a town or at least a large area. For RP value that'd be nice, since right now vampires (not counting players!) are sort of an afterthought in the game's set up - their areas, RP equipment and mobs play a very minor role. Rat mobs play a larger RP value than the total of vampire stuff. Just a thought :) Heh, forgive me if it's not totally coherent, I'm sick again and on lots of cold medicine…. and back to bed with me.

Awesome Syn - I want a tattoo too  I mean think about it.. you think Warlord, doesn't that image come with some sort of badass accessories - tattoos, scary hair, intimidation tactics.. a big part of war is looking fierce - and a terrified enemy won't be as effective in combat. To be fair though, so far the conversation has really been trying to shift to remort only. I was thinking more of new things that could go for mort or remort classes. A warpaint or tattoo skill would fit really well in a couple of the mort classes too, but maybe then not be very effective against remorts for balance. Maybe you could make tattoos from quest items. Like quest for a vial of tattoo ink, then travel to a specific location for the type of tattoo you want.. like if you want a dragon tattoo with fly spell, travel to Kalandor where a new mob will give you a tattoo based on the town's famous dragon.

Maybe pmounts should have a stat block that says how much xp they've acrued as part of your form, how many monsters that have fallen under their hooves/claws, steps taken by the mount, etc…

It isn't affected by no-magic rooms, and creatures immune to magic are affected, so while they are spells from other classes, they really aren't magic. A fix that, I didn't realize until the other day fighting Spunky, is that bards could also still play while bashed. Syn said that it is something that will be fixed. A small advantage to get them off sync of playing between rounds at least.

Balder Well, the time it takes to quest and get any thing takes a long ass time. Most people wouldn't get a pmount until late in the game when they don't want to use the other mounts available to them. All pmounts are good for mainly is arena battles against spunky  it would seem. The only thing I think could be improved on a Pmount is a huge slur of armors that would repop with the pmount unless killed in cpk. Having the pmount sort of like a character and it would also go to the death area (can't remember the name off hand), this way people can actually look at it too if they die. It is hard to read a mount description because the damn things move to fast. And the mounts can take just as god awfully long as before, but having armors you give them, and some can be quest items, and some secrets and some you can buy would be nifty as well. Make some new stuff for the game. (Nothing over powering for the mounts though) These armors can be anti-good evil neutral too, making some new twists to sentiance. This could also take away the need for permanent spells, or make 2 affects instead of 4. Just some food for thought though. Balder

Nop, I think it's an awesome idea actually. Whisp's implemented a war system (holy war/battle royal/genocide) sanctioned by the gods… I've been finishing this up and in addition to it, I would love to add a few things like this which overlay an element of strategy on top of the fighting. Granted tic-tac-toe isn't a master's challenge, but it would make it a little more intersting. Before I add it I'd like to come up with a few other ideas like this which wouldn't be too hard to code (maybe a new "war games" system - not like a war, but more strategy, similar to arena fighting vs. all-out pk fighting). Chess does come to mind, and it's something I am going to implement in the game in the long run in some form, but it would take a lot of time. In the meanwhile we could have a few simple games like this.

<quote author="Ithilidin">@Ithilidin: Isn't that what the ring of truesight does?</quote> Ring of TrueSight only shows if in same room as the shifted/shaped person. <quote>> Aren't we the egomaniac. If I was complaining about just that PK, i'd have taken it to the whining board.</quote> Just interesting that the post was here so quickly afterwards. Probably while you were still dead from affore mentioned pk. And I guess my point is this Stareve, I wasnt in the area you were in when you entered pk. So shaped or not I would not have shown on who or where for that area. The point is this, you knowingly entered a pk area, that shows readily that you are there. And you should know by now, that I or anyone with proper means can get there very quickly. Being as how I was shaped as a non-resident mob of the area, when I walked in the room you should have had a clue. It not the skills/eq/natural sneakiness I have but your apparent in attention to what was going on in the area while you were busy with a mob. NOT while you were making the assessment of risk of going in. You knew (or should have known) the room you were in was less than 10 steps from the door to the hall of my church. You knew I was active (or should have since you saw me at the mayor several times.) To change the where now to show shape/shifted characters would negate the reason for those abilitties. I say leave as is. And yes I am one with these abilities, but as is well known, I also have to characters that dont, so when on these characters, I dont enjoy that benefit, but yet they still get there fair share of action, and plan on getting more. And they also risk not knowing where a shifted/shaped char might be when going into pk areas. So this is not a totally biased opinion.
