    Very few, if any areas are completely out of object vnums or even that close. If this was a problem, I would agree completely with putting things in wilderness stock that should be a mud constant. However, as the system is right now, wilderness stock is a highly restricted area. I would rather not have 500 requests for objects/mobs to be made when we have enough spare vnums. As for mob constants, we have a copy feature that allows people to copy one file (mobs/object/room) to another place that they can work with it. So, when there are differences between mobs, it is either to fit a theme or for some specific reason. I will hopefully be looking into adding some wilderness mobs, but I need to talk to Syn first because I would like it to be area specific (mountain goats would not load in the middle of a forest, etc) I can also make it so if we have moles and what not, they can load either the same hide, or I can change the program to accept both kinds. Both options are easy fixes. I like the tanning idea, Tommi (and Xevira). Not exactly sure how to balance it, but I would like to see that in the future. eRT

    In so far as pvp is concerned, I think the balance issues would be much more easily solved if there weren't discrepancies between the number of attacks each player could potentially have coupled with a limit on defenses. Spread over the course of a fight there's little that can compare to the damage potential of one, two, or even three more attacks per round than your opponent. The only reason it doesn't cause a total collapse of balance is the tendency of the various algorithms to "streak", adding a fairly high degree of random luck to a fight. Using this tendency as a form of balance really only degrades the ability of the player to use strategy and skill however.

    I gotta disagree with this. Echos are used in things like time, objects make them, immortals make them, rooms do… they're pretty well universal. If an immortal has a DIRE announcement they'll either post a note or it will be sent multiple times. Besides, it ruins my fun when I echo some stuff when there's a [GLOBAL] Flag attached to it. eRT

    Resistance to Magic doesn't do much currently. Extra Defense doesn't mean you'll defend more per round. Highest mana is mainly for PvM not PvP. You're usually dead before you use all that mana :P

    And not all of us have Faerie Fire as an option from our class choices. I can see the stress thing as a good limiting thing to both this and possibly the blood magic suggestion. Just to let u know, it comes from an rpg game I used to play called Earthdawn and a class called Cavaliers (very similar to crusaders on Sent) had it. I presented it first in a very strong version, but I realize that the version imped (if any) would be less for balancing purposes. Just trying to get the juices of the Imps going on something like that. What makes it different is that since u are drawing from mount , u must have the mount. Instead of the mounts stats being the limit maybe some fraction thereof. Like I said just a rough draft.

True, there are a lot of vampire players, but that makes stake even LESS useful for playerkilling.     It's just too easy to hit someone with a full dispel, or close. I cast it once all their shit is gone in one go. That is too easy. And Arkain as to that quote, I mean for PVP battles only, not mobs. Mob dispelling is fine as it is.

    Another part of that idea: If multiple arenas are made, you and your prospective opponent have to be near the specified arena location. I guess the limit on that could be. can you be summoned there? If you can't, then you are too far away from the arena. I know that is a moot point with how leaving the arena now just takes you back to your previous location. ;) Just a thought though. Also, perhaps prevent consecutive challenges to a particular individual… ie, if a player has a challenged issued to them or they have challenged someone, no other challenge to that player can be made until the challenge has been rejected or the arena battle has completed. And, this has been put on the idea table before: Arena betting! :D Have a timer set from the moment the challenge has been accepted to when fighting can commence. During that time period, people can place bets on the match. Perhaps give odds of winning based on various factors (like level ratio) such that the rewards to the winning bets can be measured somewhat. :) Also, the stipulation type thing could be a way to DISQUALIFY combatants. You don't die if you don't follow the stipulations. You just lose the arena battle and are taken to the arena recall.
