Having to deal with a mount is no different than saying having to deal with you to get to one of your churchies. As a crusader, the mount becomes a faithful follower when you mount up. And dealing with that skill of a crusader is no different than dealing with say the pursuit skill of a warlord or any other class specific skill of the other classes. Every class has their benefits. A big deal was made of persuit being unfair as well. And there are other ways to deal with spell casting npc's, blind (either the orderer or the ordered). Silence as you mentioned, or there is another simple one, that is as effective as silence, because there is noway to fix it during combat, without opening another vulnerability, so I still say it is not unbalanced. And this is coming from someone who has been on both ends of the argument in game.

Very true! I'm glad I'm not a coder and have that head problem to deal with.

Exactly. That way, any race could be any class. Though MAYBE, their NEXT class could be affected by whta they choose. Let's say I go Marauder, an evil warrior. Well I would have to be a neutral or evil class next. Now, if I went neutral, THEN for the class after that, I could pick what I wanted. If I went good then, for my last class, I could go either good or neutral. If I went neutral, I could pick any of the three again Maybe that's dumb, I dunno.

Also along the lines of weapons. How about this? Some weapons could be used as more than one type. I could use a chain as a whip, but I could also wrap it around my fist and use it as a hand to hand weapon (I guess that would fit in exotic right now). Could use a bow as a blunt weapon. you get the idea.

Why does everything have to have an elaborate "rp" explanation? I think mounts passing through doors if the rider has pass door is a matter of convenience. The last thing we need to start adding are obnoxious additions ala the mud whose name we do not utter (yes i realize mounts can pass through doors there). Cumbersome tweaks that slow down the pace of play and make gaming more of chore than a good time is a dangerous road to start down.

From what I remembered, the skill/spells acquired were supposed to be temporary. A lich could have more than one tooth in their jawbone (to a limit I think). I gathered that the tooth would rot away when it expired, taking the skill/spell with it, if you didn't already have it beforehand

I always felt like people who stepped into mysterious portals that appeared before them kinda deserved whatever they got. Or are you talking about the other way around? In that case, you'd be pretty dumb to just sit there when a portal appeared before you in a PK room. I know I'd start moving my butt. If they're friendly, they can tell me ahead of time they're coming. Personally I don't think the game should be idiot-safe. If you're dumb enough to sit there or enter the portal, then take what you get.

Change wind of confusion to cast confusion. This may cause the victim to flee/walk around randomly, attack something else or stop combat. Duration being no more than a tick or two.
