    That was basically what I was trying to get at. I didn't want it to be just like backstab. Having other factors like that will make it unique and worthwhile.

    Well I had my character Ridick a long time ago for it… he was 120. As the sword went up levels the worse it got. All of the other 120 weaps were significantly better, so there was no purpose in having one.

    On the nosum off thing, I thing the default was changed from on to off not sure. But the person thought it was on. And some paths go thru towns as well, it might have been in the town still that they were summoned from, not sure.

    Perhaps in the future we could be given a choice of either single class or multi class? I know in some MUDs, you can do either.

    I restring my most important potions: heal, cloak, and cancel, so that way I can just get them out of the potion bag by their name. Kind of an expensive and inconvenient solution for that problem. :P

    Okay. I like the ideas. My first idea is that a bard, if they have their MUSIC skill mastered, should be able to play songs without an instrument. The difference would be a new syntax "sing <song name="">" instead of "play", and the spells of the song would have their levels halved. A couple more ideas. First of all, bard songs being heard in adjacent rooms. I think the reasoning is obvious. Second of all, I have a few songs that I think should be added to the list of a bard when they remort. There's two theories to this, and I want to hear which you like better. Number one, when they go ANY thief class, they get more songs. Number two, when they go SAGE remort class, since that is the good one, and lowers bard playing time already. But anyway, here are the songs. First: "A Rift In Time" Something like that. It would be like the old school spell "Portal" which is like a nexus, but only one way. This would be further limited by not being able to be played in a PK room, and the target has to have nosum off. Because of these restrictions, it would not require an astral. Second: "Dance of Death" This is a complicated one, which would be hard to execute. Basically, this would need to be a skill for it to work. But anyway. The bard would use the skill, "dance of death <target>" and he would start dancing. The bard would not get any attacks, but combat would be initiated, and the enemy would be attacking him. During this time, every round the bards skill would be checked, if successfull the Dance of Death would drain some of the enemies life, starting small and getting stronger and stronger as the dance goes on. We'll have to discuss how the damage should be calculated. I think that it should be a % of the bards maximum health, starting low at like 10% or something, and going up by say… 5% each successfull round. The bad thing about this for the bard, is that some of the damage he is doing to the target is being returned to him. Say like 1/8 or something. Another thing, for this to be worthwhile to the bard, he can interrupt his dance during battle, and the % of damage being done to the target would not reset back to 10, the bard could resume the dance and pick up damage from there. That's a good amount to think about, I'll leave it at that.</target></song>

    (hmm.. sudden thought of worst thing to do: comment Xevira's entire post…) Ok, lots of crazy ideas here... let me see. Armor/shield on door: cool, I support. Sanctuary on door: what's the point? Everyone already has sanc. Web on door: not a bad idea... but when could they actually pass? And I like the arrow thing for it... though I have yet to see a person use (cross)bows, even though I've heard they work. Fireball/Fireproof on door: meh, I'll agree with Ertai-- we already have enough crap for this. Barrier on door: sounds good. Invis/Improved invis on door: again, I agree with Ertai on both. Word of Recall on door: what's the point of this again? to make a room completely and utterly inaccessible, so that every time someone tries to enter it, they're thrown back? Bless on door: ... why would anyone want to do this? Dispel Magic on door: "off the door" as in removing armor/shield/fireproof from it? That wouldn't be too bad. The fears seem... interesting. Yet again, I must agree with Ertai; to kill by these would be far too good, but decreasing hit/damroll sounds like a decent consequence for being in a feared situation... or maybe decreasing a few attributes like str or dex temporarily. I would like to hear some different ideas for the consequences here though. And though if you look at a dictionary definition of hydrophobia you'll most likely see rabies listed, most of us don't think of rabies in that way, so maybe only call that one hydrophobia. Sanc on a room.. while it sounds like a good idea, it could easily be abused... maybe make a player not be able to cast it very often and make the duration relatively short. Just as long as someone can't hide out forever in one (or numerous) room(s) from a pker, making the room(s) safe continuously, it might be ok.. but do we really need this? Oasis sounds more practical, but I disagree with Ertai here, and think it should definitely be for more than just 1 or 2 ticks.. maybe like 5. Grow Vegetation sounds blah. (refers to Ertai's answer) Grow Vines sounds interesting.. but if we would already allow web to do so, this would just be unnecessary. Wither sounds meh. And others have a point about vamp/fiend. Decay.. I think it's just wrong to be able to destroy someone else's hard-gotten items. Illusionary Mob would be cool if Titans were still vuln to mental, but I believe that vulnerability was taken away. If it wasn't, this would be cool. Hallucination sounds a bit similar to Illusionary Mob.. could have some very interesting applications, but yeah.. just don't let this happen in CPK rooms. Chanting sounds interesting, but it's not like it's hard to get a weapon style that high.. I know mine was mastered foreverago. And yes, Ertai, I believe we monks are supposed to have a bit enhanced hand to hand damage, but it's still not as high as weapons or anything. Maybe to balance this out make it dissipating out over the duration.. like you chant before a battle, and the effect tapers off gradually. Again, others are right about Critical Damage being way too powerful; 1/4, 1/3, or so would be good. Counter and Fake.. meh, while counter sounds interesting, it's kind of unfair that both require the opponent to also have the skill in order to have any chance of reversing it.. and Fake doesn't seem that useful anyway. Ugh.. that was a lot of writing and thinking.. ow ... very glad we have someone who has lots of ideas to give out, just don't do this too often.

    i was more referring to the fact of beating someone over the head with a classical instrument had a value to it. and i've slept like shit the last week, so let it slide :) soth

    While 50-90 sounds good in general.. it's just kind of bland for 2 remort classes to have something with even that level of similarity; maybe make it a more constant spell by being always halfway between those – 70%? Or maybe 75% just for a nice, even (in a sense) number?

    well other then give them bonus' the imms/imps need to make minos equally strong as other races in other words minos need more skills and spells to better suit them the only thing i have thats good write now i circle thats it
